Summer is in full swing, which means your social calendar is probably packed with plans—I know mine is. But between the parties, weddings, vacations and other events, it’s easy to get a little carried away when it comes to spending. So I’ve put together a little guide guaranteed to keep the fun going, featuring 10 free and cheap things to do in Orange County this summer.
Soon enough, America will be celebrating its 241st birthday, and might I say, does she look good. Since the Fourth of July holiday (unfortunately) falls on a Tuesday this year, most of us will probably be celebrating the weekend before, which is THIS WEEKEND believe it or not.
Summer is officially here, which means it’s time to give your favorite black bag a rest and opt for something a little more vacation inspired. Straw, raffia, wicker, ratan—basket bags are definitely the ‘it’ style of the season, designed with everything from rainbow pom poms to cute phrases.
If you’ve been following my blog for a while, you might remember my post last summer (the first-ever post on Sartorially OC!) about the season’s pineapple trend. Well, to no one’s surprise, the ‘food as fashion’ trend is back this year, but with a twist. Citrus has been taking over the style scene with lemons (thank you, Beyoncé) owning the spotlight as the summer’s fruit of choice.
Other than little weekend trips here and there, I (unfortunately) don’t really have any big vacations planned this summer. Though, just because I’m not jet-setting to the Caribbean on the latest #REVOLVEaroundtheworld trip doesn’t mean I can’t enjoy a little fun in the sun in my own backyard.
Timeless, iconic, always on trend—no I’m not talking about my personal style (wink, wink), I’m talking about stripes. Whether they’re vertical or horizontal, wide or narrow, stripes instantly transform any piece into a wardrobe classic. Though they’re obviously appropriate for any time of year, I especially love wearing stripes in the summer months when the nautical trend is having its time in the spotlight.
