Every season, there’s a color that dominates the street-style scene. One that takes over your Instagram feed so much, you can’t help but click *add to cart*. This fall, you guessed it—it’s all about mustard.
Even though I was born and raised on the East Coast in Orlando (407 represent!), I’ve always been a West Coast girl at heart. There’s just something about the California lifestyle that intrigued me from a young age—the endless summer days, palm trees everywhere, rock coastlines—not to mention the style and trends that come with it.
In case you haven’t noticed, the ‘90s are officially back. Chokers, mini backpacks and platform shoes—it’s seriously my childhood dream come true. Though, one of the biggest trends I’ve seen returning to the street-style world is the slip-dress-and-t-shirt look.
As basic as this may sound, the thing I look forward to most on the weekends is brunch. I mean, I would pretty much live off of mimosas and eggs benedict if I was allowed. I’ve been to my fair share of brunch spots in Orange County and, don’t get me wrong, I’ve had some delicious meals. But last weekend’s experience was one that’ll be hard to top.
Last fall, I had the opportunity to do a photoshoot in Venice Beach for two of my favorite fashion labels: Carmar Denim and Emma & Sam. This was my first real collaboration and I was extremely excited to represent brands that I truly love and actually wear on the reg. We spent the day on the eclectic Venice Beach boardwalk trying to capture that iconic California vibe the brands are known for. Despite a few alleyway outfit changes and awkward wardrobe malfunctions that come with street-style shoots, I have to say, I think we succeeded.
I don’t know about you, but I am thrilled that fall is officially here. I mean, what’s not to love about the changing leaves, cooler weather and endless amounts of comfort food that comes with it? All that aside, what I think I look forward to most is the fashion.
