Sweater: Madewell | Skirt: Brandy Melville | Boots: Vintage | Bag: Irene’s Story (similar here) | Sunglasses: Madewell

Winter in California: honestly, you can barely call it winter. I can see snow on the mountaintops along my morning commute, but here at the beach, it usually doesn’t go below 50. I guess that’s one of the perks of living in Orange County.

Even though we don’t experience the traditional winters that other parts of the country do, I still like to embrace the wintertime trends and style. I found this Madewell turtleneck sweater on SALE and fell in love with the fact that the neck is actually removable! Versatility and style?! Count me in. I paired it with this faux-suede skirt from Brandy Melville for a look that’s both chic and effortless.

Along with cozy sweaters, one of my favorite cold-weather trends is over-the-knee boots. This pair is actually a vintage hand-me-down from one of my friends, and has become a staple that I pull out every year when the temperatures start to drop. I love styling them with skirts on warmer winter days, but they’re also great with jeans or leggings when the weather really cools down. The neutral cognac color also pairs well with pretty much anything in my closet. Since I wear these so much, I really want to invest in a good pair of black over-the-knee boots, so if anyone has any recommendations, let me know!
