Sweater: Madwell | Jeans: Madewell | Shoes: Irene’s Story | Bag: Irene’s Story (old) | Sunglasses: Madewell

The holidays are officially over, and I’m exhausted to say the least. Between the social events, shopping for gifts, family time and hectic work schedule, there’s really not much time left for anything else. Don’t get me wrong, I do love the holidays, but the thing I look forward to most about the New Year is getting back into a normal routine and slowing down a bit from the crazy holiday pace.

Slowing down for me also means taking an easier approach to my everyday style. Instead of splurging on items for events and special occasions, I decided to take advantage of the holiday sales and stock up on essentials—classic styles that I could add to my weekly rotation. That’s where Madewell comes in. Madewell has become my go-to brand for anything and everything in my wardrobe. Sweaters, tees, boots, jeans, accessories—everything is the perfect mix of comfort, quality, style and price (a no-brainer if you ask me). That’s where I found my new favorite jeans (i’m wearing the 9” High-Rise Skinny Jean in Polly Wash). Honestly, I wore them for at least 5 days straight over the holiday break (don’t judge) and they still fit like the first time I put them on. Plus, the high rise holds me in, elongates my (very short) legs and is so comfortable. I also just about died over this sweater, with a cute embroidered phrase on the chest and a button-down back.

If you’re like me and follow bloggers like Damsel in Dior and East Sleep Wear on the reg, you probably recognize my slip-on loafers. No, they aren’t Gucci (I wish), but they are literally the next best thing. I found them at Irene’s Story for under $40! With a fur-lined interior and Gucci-inspired hardware, they are the perfect winter slip-on—dressed up enough for work, but casual enough for everyday. And plus, when they’re no longer the shoe of the moment, I won’t be regretting how much I spent on them.
