Romper: Irene’s Story (old)

I recently traveled to Birmingham, Alabama for the 18th annual Sidewalk Film Festival. I absolutely loved being back in the South and exploring a new city for the first time. Our weekend consisted of watching amazing indie movies, eating delicious BBQ and attending event after event alongside fellow filmmakers. With our itinerary so jam-packed, versatility was key when it came to styling choices.
This romper from Irene’s Story was perfect for the occasion (an oldie but a goodie, for sure). It’s super lightweight, which was great for the 90-degree heat. The keyhole gives it a playful touch while still keeping the look chic. I paired it with my suede espadrille wedges, which were comfortable enough to walk around in and also dressed it up a bit for nighttime.
Whenever I’m unsure of what to wear or what the dress code might be for a particular event, I always lean towards a romper or a jumpsuit. They’re comfortable, easy and the ultimate balance of dressy and casual. Plus, they’re great for traveling because they take up almost no room in your suitcase, especially if you’re going carry-on.
If I leave you with nothing else, it’s this: when in doubt, wear a one piece. You really can’t go wrong.
